Work Training Center, Inc., and its affiliated programs (WTC) have been using the SNAP Curriculum since April of last year. We have found these materials to be of great value to us as we have revised and upgraded our programs at the Feather River Opportunity Center and Feather River Industries wood production shop, both located in Oroville. In collaboration with Oroville Adult School, our staff at both training sites have been changing the way we serve developmentally disabled adults. We endeavor to make the learning environment and curriculum more suited to the needs of this particular group of students, more relevant to their particular goals, and more related to the vocational outcomes which are the primary focus of these two service venues. When I first examined the SNAP Curriculum on a visit to the north coast last year, I was immediately impressed with the thoroughness and comprehensiveness of this system. As we've incorporated various parts of SNAP in our program re-design, my initial impressions have been borne out repeatedly. WTC is very satisfied with our purchase of the SNAP Curriculum. We are delighted to recommend SNAP to other providers of services to people with developmental disabilities.
C.O., Executive Director I would like to endorse the Specific Natural Activity Program or SNAP Curriculum for its adaptability in a moderate/severe special day class program. The curriculum offers a myriad of options and suggestions concerning where and how it can be used, yet it is so comprehensive. Although some topics are advanced for my students, it has provided the basis for discussion and a starting place for staff to begin with a uniform structure. Especially useful were the daily living skills, personal hygiene, money skills, meal planning and recreational skills sections. Topics were approached with a straightforward practical tone that makes it simple to structure for individual student's needs. Thank you for sharing this curriculum with me!
C.R., Special Day Class Teacher I keep forgetting to email and thank you for the wonderful SNAP program. Our staff have enjoyed using the easy format. As you know, there are many curriculums out there, but most are not put together by folks in our field. I have personally used SNAP myself and find it very easy to use. Thanks again for the great material.
Sincerely,
